Spend a Night at Cinderella’s Castle – Dreams Do Come True

disney-year-of-a-million-dreams.jpgAs part of Walt Disney World’s Year of a Million Dreams campaign, one lucky family recently won the opportunity to spend a night at Cinderella’s Castle. Here in the Orlando area, the local news reporters have been excitedly reporting this story.

Staying at Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom has always been one of my dreams since I was a little girl. In fact, I would be happy just looking inside the rooms. I think most children (and adults, too) dream about living in the castle. I can’t even remember how many times I wished I could just live in one of the second floor rooms on Main Street U.S.A. Staying inside the castle was too much to even imagine.

On the evening of January 25, 2007, a family had the chance to live the dream. They were randomly chosen during their visit to Walt Disney World and offered the opportunity of a lifetime for any Disney fan.

News reports have shown glimpses of the guest suite inside the castle, and the accommodations look beautiful. The furniture appears ornate with a royal flair, and the decorating is lavishly fit for a princess like Cinderella with deep red and gold-toned detail and lush fabrics. Disney announced more families will be randomly selected to spend a night at the castle during the Year of a Million Dreams promotion, but I can only hope Disney will open this opportunity to more guests outside of the promotion in the future. I know I would be one of the first on line to book my stay at the castle.

This is just the start of Disney’s Year of a Million Dreams promotion. Already, another family was selected randomly to visit the Magic Kingdom for an entire morning by themselves. Can you imagine having the entire park to yourself? Disney made that dream come true and many more are on the way.

Recently, my husband and I were at the Magic Kingdom with our two-year old triplets. We were enjoying a snack at the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station when a cast member approached us and presented us with Year of a Million Dreams buttons featuring a picture of the Incredibles for our children. She hand-personalized each button with the kids’ names and the year. It was just a small token but will become a special piece of memorabilia for the triplets to remind them that they were a part of the Disney dream.

I am excitedly waiting to see the next dream Disney makes come true during the Year of a Million Dreams campaign. What is your Disney dream?

I know what you mean! When I lived up north, we used to go to Disney World on vacation every year (sometimes more than once), but still I used to watch every show on HGTV and the Food Network about Disney and wish I could be there. I think I thought about going to Disney every day! Finally, we moved to Central Florida, primarily so I could be near Disney!

I would love that from my 20 month old daughter when she gets older! Actually, I would enjoy it for me! I love the Magic Kingdom. It’s not hubby’s favorite place, but he puts up with it for me. I can’t wait til my daughter is old enough to fully enjoy that wonderful place.
