Get Ready for the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

epcot-flower-garden-festival-2007.jpgWalt Disney World’s fourteenth annual Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is set to begin on April 2, 2007.  This year, it will run through June 3, 2007, and the theme centers around pirates and princesses.  A huge topiary of Captain Hook’s ship will be a festival highlight, and a long list of special events and fun attractions will ensure the two-month festival is full of excitement.

Undoubtedly, I’ll be writing a number of posts about this year’s Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival throughout the months of April and May.  Last year, my family spent a lot of time in Minnie’s Magnificent Butterfly Garden, because my triplets were mesmerized with the colorful butterflies.  I can’t wait to see which attractions are their favorites this year.  Some of the beautiful gardens that will be featured at the 2007 festival include:

  • Minnie’s Magnficient Butterfly Garden
  • Fragrance Garden
  • Tinkerbell’s Fairy Garden
  • Art of Outdoor Living Garden
  • Dynamite Vegetable Garden
  • Sculpture Garden
  • Winter Garden Wonders
  • Wildlife Garden
  • Bonsai Collection Japanese Garden
  • Italian Container Garden

The Flower Power Concert Series and Mother’s Day Breakfast Buffet will be held again this year as will a series of programs at the Festival Center.  In typical Disney style, families will be able to enjoy the festival together by participating in fun-filled activities designed especially for children.

I moved to Texas 4 years ago, but the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival was something my family enjoyed together for many years. (My family still lives in Florida.) I miss it so much! So many great memories!

I know what you mean, Julia. I love the Flower and Garden Festival! I’m counting down the days until it begins. I’m looking forward to seeing the pirate themed topiaries and decorations this year.
