The Seas with Nemo and Friends at Epcot – A One-of-a-Kind Attraction

disney-world-nemo-ride-epcot.jpgA new ride called The Seas with Nemo and Friends opened at Walt Disney World’s Living Seas pavilion in Epcot a few months ago.  My triplets love the “Finding Nemo” movie, so I expected this ride to be a big hit with them.  I was right.

As you enter the queue for The Seas with Nemo and Friends, you are instantly immersed in the “Finding Nemo” story.  The interior and exterior of the Living Seas pavilion have been refurbished to include all the characters from the “Finding Nemo” movie.  From the moment you walk through the door, you are made to believe you’re under water with cleverly designed decorations, scenery and lighting.

When it’s your turn to climb on board, you’ll notice you’re riding in a big, pink clamshell.  Your clamobile (as Disney calls it) takes you through the same path the ride’s predecessor followed, but instead of just viewing the fish tanks, the “Finding Nemo” characters have been added into the tanks through a clever animation technique.  You’ll follow Marlin and Dory as they search for Nemo who is missing again.  As usual, I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll simply say, get ready to dodge the jellyfish and surf the EAC with Crush and Squirt.  It’s a one-of-a-kind experience.

Overall, The Seas with Nemo and Friends is a great new ride, and my children love it.  It’s also a great way to introduce children to the Living Seas pavilion and get them excited about viewing the live fish and exhibits after the ride.
