Little Mermaid Ride Coming to the Magic Kingdom

disney-world-the-little-mermaid-ride.jpgThe latest rumor I’m hearing says that Walt Disney World is adding a new Little Mermaid ride to the Magic Kingdom.  It will be located where the old 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride used to be (next to the current location of Ariel’s Grotto where Ariel does autograph signings) in Fantasyland.

This is still a very new rumor, but I’m hearing that if it’s true, the new Little Mermaid ride will open somewhere between 2012 and 2015.

My husband and I have been talking about how we thought Disney should re-do the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride with a Little Mermaid or Finding Nemo theme for years.  I’m so happy to hear that area will finally be revitalized!

Wasn’t it confirmed that a new Finding Nemo ride is already going in there? Or will this be in addition to the Nemo ride?

Little Mermaid is the most recent rumor spreading. I haven’t seen any confirmation or official announcement from Disney, but since a Finding Nemo ride just opened in Epcot in the Living Seas Pavilion (http://disneyfamiliesandmore.wordpress.com/2007/03/06/the-seas-with-nemo-and-friends-at-epcot-a-one-of-a-kind-attraction/), I’m not sure if they’d open another Nemo ride in the Magic Kingdom, but you never know. We’ll have to wait until some more details are leaked or released. Either way, it will be a great to see that area revived!

I’ll post an update if I hear more!

I hope that the Little Mermaid is going in that spot. It’s a shame that its been vacant for so many years. The magic Kingdom has always been my favorite, but going up in Florida I’ve been a trillon times and seen it all over & over again so updating and adding new rides will be great!!
