Rumors have been flying that Disney has chosen Shanghai, China as the location for the next Disneyland theme park. This week, stock analysts chimed in on TradingMarkets.com to say from a financial perspective, it looks like those rumors just might be true.
In fact, the new rumor says that the official announcement for Shanghai Disneyland will take place around the start of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

Today, I received a comment from a reader named Charlotte who is from the U.K. and will be visiting Epcot with her husband-to-be. A new Disney press release went out today announcing that St. Patrick’s Day will last longer than a weekend at Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island in Walt Disney World this year. Here’s what’s going on:
Pleasure Island
Sham-Rock ‘n’ Roll is a fun-filled street party, which will be held on March 14, 15 and 17 starting at 7:00 p.m. each night. Disney says Pleasure Island will “turn green” with live music (featuring Seven Nations), videos by Irish artists, leprechauns, stilt walkers and more. Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World replaced the original Playhouse Disney Live on Stage show that starred characters from Bear in the Big Blue House, Stanley, Jo Jo’s Circus and Winnie the Pooh with a new cast that features characters from some of the most popular shows currently on the Disney Channel during Disney’s morning Playhouse Disney segment.

Great find on Tiki Talk today – Disneyland will hold a special event on June 22, 2008 to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland in California.
Disney has contracted with several artists to create artwork to help celebrate the event. The Stars and Cars Motor Parade at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World has been officially replaced with the Block Party Bash parade, which features Disney/Pixar characters. The new Block Party Bash parade opened on March 6, 2008 for a cast member preview and will remain in preview mode until its official launch on March 14, 2008.
