Enchanted Tiki Room with Stitch Opens in Tokyo Disneyland

Disney enchanted tiki room bird Today is the day that the newly refurbished Enchanted Tiki Room attraction opens in Tokyo Disneyland with a new name, The Enchanted “Tiki Room: Stitch Presents ‘Aloha E Komo Mai!” and a new audio-animatronic performer – Stitch from Lilo and Stitch.

According to the Tokyo Disney website, Stitch will join the Tiki birds, Tiki gods and guests by “blundering” through the show.  People who have seen the show are reporting online that it’s cute.  You can see a few pictures of what appears to be Stitch in the center of the room amidst the Tiki Birds at DeepDisney.

I finally got over to Disneyland yesterday and only had to wait 20 minutes (at peak time!) to go see the new Tiki Room. I am not a fan of Stitch, unfortunately, and I found the new Tiki Room to be a lot less cute than the original show. (I’m a sucker for the original!) I was also surprised at how short the show seemed to be. I don’t remember the exact running time of the original, but this new one seemed to finish abrupbtly and didn’t seem to have very much of a point. The show basically consists of: “Oh Stitch, you silly alien! Why did you mess up our show? Because you want us to be o-hana? Awwww! We love you, Stitch!”

Also, there’s no longer an intro going on in the front waiting area– instead a cast member talks about how Stitch has gone missing over the speaker system.

    Trixie,

Thank you so much for the info about the new Enchanted Tiki Room. I know what you mean. I’m nostalgic for the original versions of Disney rides and attractions, too. When the Enchanted Tiki Room in Disney World changed to add characters from Aladdin and The Lion King, I was really disappointed in the new version. I suppose adding current characters might make the attractions more appealing to small children but I still miss the originals.
