Just in time for the December holiday season. That’s the schedule given by Disney today for the opening of the refurbished walkthrough attraction at Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle. Some of the new enhancements include:
New scenes
Special effects
New technology
A special room providing a virtual experience of the walkthrough attraction for guests in wheelchairs or unable to climb stairs.
Next time you’re at Epcot in Walt Disney World on a hot day (as most days are in Central Florida), stop by the Cool Wash station outside of Test Track. You can get sprayed by a mist of water, take pictures with the Test Track car complete with a Test Track dummy inside drinking a Coke, and order a Frozen Coke, too!

The rumors continue to circulate about a 12th Disney theme park location with Shanghai again popping up as the most likely contender. Jim Hill Media has a post up that includes much speculation about a new Disney theme park on mainland China stating that Disney will announce the location as Shanghai in September, after the 2008 Summer Olympics end in Beijing, China.

Special summer entertainment kicked off at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea on July 8th and will run through August 31, 2008.
At Tokyo Disneyland guests can watch the Starlight Dreams fireworks show over Cinderella’s Castle. The theme for this show, which was created to help celebrate the Tokyo Disneyland 25th Anniversary summer, is meant to reflect Disney guest and Disney character dreams and memories.

Recently, the Disney Dreams Come True Parade replaced the Share a Dream Come True parade at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. This is the daily parade at the Magic Kingdom that is typically held at about 3:00 p.m. The new parade is extremely similar to the old parade. It appears that most of the floats are the same with the “snow globes” removed, new dances and a few other small changes.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts recently launched the Disney Parks Channel on YouTube. To hype the new Disney Channel on YouTube, Disney is having a contest! Rumor has it the new Disney Vacation Club Bay Lake Tower being built as part of Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort will begin selling in mid-August (check out the construction photo taken last month). Although the actual date Disney Vacation Club timeshares will go on sale for the new Bay Lake Tower has not been released, guides are telling DVC shoppers that Disney’s Saratoga Springs resort timeshares are sold out. That means the Bay Lake Tower is next on the list.

The new Tokyo Disneyland Hotel officially opened today, July 8, 2008, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the Tokyo Disney Resort and bringing the grand total to three hotels now on Tokyo Disney Resort property (Disney Ambassador Hotel and Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta are the other two Tokyo Disney Resort hotels). The new Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is positioned in front of the main entrance to Tokyo Disneyland Park.
