T-Rex Restaurant in Downtown Disney Opening October 14, 2008
I was at Disney’s Animal Kingdom today eating dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, which always makes me think of the new T-Rex Restaurant that’s being built in Downtown Disney. I realized I haven’t posted an update on the new T-Rex Restaurant since the beginning of June, so it’s definitely time for a new post.
I’m so excited for this restaurant to open. My 4-year old triplets are really into dinosaurs right now, and I know they’re going to have a blast going to the T-Rex Restaurant when it opens on ….. October 14th, 2008.
What do you think about the new T-Rex Restaurant? Will you make a point to visit during your next trip to Walt Disney World?

Just wanted to let you know that you mistakenly said that T-Rex was opening in 2009 when it is actually scheduled to open Oct. 14, 2008.

just got back from Disney (was there from the 18 to the 25 of Aug) & the t-rex looks funny right now because the skeleton frame is done except for the head.
Patti, thanks for sharing the update! I haven’t been over to Downtown Disney for a few weeks, but I have to get over there and check out the progress. Of course, I know I’ll be there after 10/14 to eat at the new T-Rex Restaurant! My triplets are so excited, too!
Is October 14, 2008 a definite opening date??
Allison, I have not heard differently. Keep calling 407-WDW-DINE and ask when they start taking reservations what the opening date is. They’ll have the latest info as the date approaches.
I just called today and I was told that they do not handle the reservations for this, similar to the Rain Forest Cafe. I went to the T-Rex Cafe website and there is no number to call to make a reservation. So please let me know if anyone hears differently.

You can call the regular Disney dining number to make reservations at the Rain Forest Cafe as long as you call at least 24 hours in advance. The T-Rex restaurant is not open for reservations yet.
I’m looking forward to visiting T-Rex on our 2009 trip – although I expect it will be very busy for months to come. I think this one will be great fun for kids and adults alike.
I attended the grand opening of T-Rex today… great restaurant! Most of the food was very good and the decor is fantastic.

We visited the T-Rex restaurant in March 2009, Totally amazing inside, food was HUGE. WOuld recomend for anyone to go there.
