]]> disneyland halloween This year, Disneyland Paris is the place to be for Halloween.  Check out some of the events and activities planned to make Halloween at Disneyland Paris extra special from October 4 – November 11, 2008:

  • Characters wearing pumpkin-heads and being referred to as pranksters will roam the entire park interacting with guests.
  • Frontierland will be renamed Halloweenland.
  • A Halloween-themed parade will entertain guests.
  • Jack and Sally from Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” will join the traditional Disney characters for appearances at the Disneyland Paris Resort.
  • Disney characters at the Disneyland Paris Resort will dress in Halloween costumes.
  • The Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Party” will be held on October 10, 17, 24, and 28 from 8:00-11:00 p.m.

But that’s not all!  On Halloween night, there will be a number of extra special and extra spooky events:

  • Makeup artists will be on hand to turn guests into pumpkin-people, vampires and more.
  • A special fireworks show will light up the sky.
  • A special parade will make its way through the park.
  • Park hours will be extended until late at night.

]]> disneyland paris castle chateau A new Ratatouille ride will open at Disneyland Paris in 2012.  It will be a dark ride using the same trackless system that Pooh’s Honey Hunt uses in Tokyo Disneyland, which is an incredibly popular ride!  In the new Ratatouille ride, guests will be shrunk to the size of Remy and chased by Chef Skinner and friends throughout the world fans grew to love in the movie Ratatouille.

But that’s not all.  Check out the changes coming to Disneyland Paris:

  • Playhouse Disney Live on Stage – opens in Spring 2009
  • Toy Storyland – a new mini-land inspired by Toy Story similar to A Bug’s Land in Disney’s California Adventure.  Rumor has it from LaughingPlace.com that Toy Storyland will include as many as five kid-friendly attractions and a character meet and greet area.  Toy Storyland should open around the same time Toy Story 3 hits theaters in 2010.
  • Disney Stars and Cars Motorcade Parade – coming from Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World (I miss that parade here in Florida!)
  • A new hotel – you can follow the link to read more about the new Disneyland Paris Resort hotel rumor on The Disney Traveler.

Attendance has increased significantly at Disneyland Paris recently, particularly with the additions of new attractions like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Stitch Live, which debuted in 2008 as part of the 15th anniversary celebration.  Looks like these additional new attractions (if they all come to fruition) should keep attendance growing at Disneyland Paris for years to come.

]]> disneyland hotel disneyland paris The new rumor from The Independent says Disneyland Paris chief financial officer, Ignace Lahoud, stated that new hotels are being planned for Disneyland Paris.  There might be some truth to that rumor considering in a press release from Disney dated August 12, 2008, it was announced that Disneyland Paris welcomed its 200 millionth visitor making it the most popular tourist destination in Europe.

Disneyland Paris saw 14.5 million visitors enter through its gates in 2007 and hotel occupancy was at 89.3%.  According to The Independent, that’s more than the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre combined.  With new attractions and entertainment launched in 2008, it seems Disneyland Paris is on track to exceed those numbers in 2008.

Looks like there has never been a better time to visit Disneyland Paris!  If the new hotel rumor is true, I look forward to seeing what the new resorts will include!

]]> I found a video of the new Enchanted fireworks show at Disneyland Paris.  It’s a video taken by a Disney guest, but quality is actually quite good.  You can see just the fireworks (not the other elements of the Enchanted show), but the color and sound are excellent.

]]> Disneyland Paris PinocchioDisney is testing out a new technology where wait times for park attractions will be sent to park guests who have BlueTooth enabled cell phones. Guests will simply have to activate the functionality on their cell phones to get the latest wait times.

Wouldn’t it be great if this technology rolled out to all the Disney parks?

]]> I found a sneak peak teaser video from the new Stitch Live! attraction in Disneyland Paris on the Disneyland Paris 15th Anniversary blog.  As expected, the show is set up using the same technology as Turtle Talk in Epcot’s The Living Seas pavilion at Walt Disney World.  It looks like a cute show.
