The T-Rex Restaurant opened this week at Downtown Disney in Walt Disney World.  I haven’t been able to go over there yet, but I found a great post on Disunplugged.com with lots of photos.  I don’t have permission to republish them here, so follow the link to see pictures of the T-Rex Restaurant at Disney!

I was at Disney’s Animal Kingdom today eating dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, which always makes me think of the new T-Rex Restaurant that’s being built in Downtown Disney.  I realized I haven’t posted an update on the new T-Rex Restaurant since the beginning of June, so it’s definitely time for a new post.
I’m so excited for this restaurant to open.  My 4-year old triplets are really into dinosaurs right now, and I know they’re going to have a blast going to the T-Rex Restaurant when it opens on ….. October 14th, 2008.

As a follow up to my post earlier this week about Disney closing the nightclubs in Walt Disney World’s Pleasure Island and replacing them with shops and restaurants, I thought I’d share a nostalgic view of Pleasure Island in pictures before the renovations for those of you who will miss it.

Late last week, Disney announced it’s closing the nightclubs located in Walt Disney World’s Pleasure Island.  Six clubs in total will close on September 27, 2008 including Mannequins, 8Trax, BET, the Adventurers Club, Motion, and the Comedy Warehouse. 

It will take two years for Pleasure Island to be recreated as a dining and shopping haven for a more family-friendly crowd.  According to Disney, the purpose for the redesign is to better meet the needs of Disney’s core audience – families.  Three businesses will stay after the transformation – Raglan Road (an Irish pub), Fuego by Sosa Cigars and Harley Davidson.

If you’ll be in the Central Florida area on July 4th, then you should definitely make plans to stop by Walt Disney World for one of the awesome fireworks displays Disney plans to put on to celebrate Independence Day.

Last year, I wrote about the new T-Rex Restaurant that is being built in between Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island at Walt Disney World.  Today, I have a new construction photo that shows you the progress of the building as well as the promotional sign stating the new restaurant will open in the Fall 2008.

If you didn’t read my original post about the T-Rex Restaurant, definitely check it out.  This restaurant sounds incredible, and I can’t wait until it opens!

A new Disney press release went out today announcing that St. Patrick’s Day will last longer than a weekend at Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island in Walt Disney World this year. Here’s what’s going on:
Pleasure Island
Sham-Rock ‘n’ Roll is a fun-filled street party, which will be held on March 14, 15 and 17 starting at 7:00 p.m. each night. Disney says Pleasure Island will “turn green” with live music (featuring Seven Nations), videos by Irish artists, leprechauns, stilt walkers and more. Today is National Tavern Day.  Happy Tavern Day!  If you’re in Walt Disney World for National Tavern Day (March 4th), then take some time to stop of at the two popular “taverns” you can find on Walt Disney World property.
If you’re in Epcot, head over to the United Kingdom pavilion and have a pint (or yard) of ale at the Rose and Crown.  Situated on the shores of the World Showcase Lagoon, you can dine on British food while watching the ever-popular Illuminations show or just hang out at the authentic British pub.

Earlier this month, I published a post announcing that Hannah Montana and High School Musical makeovers are coming to Walt Disney World’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. The exact dates and prices have now been released for Hannah Montana makeovers.
Hannah Montana makeovers will be available beginning on February 24, 2008 at the Downtown Disney Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique location only. The new makeover package is called Disney’s Secret Star Makeover. It costs $109.95 and includes a blonde wig, microphone set, makeup, guitar purse and a photo session.
