Walt Disney World’s Pleasure Island is the place to be for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. On March 14, 15 and 17, 2008, Pleasure Island will host a St. Patrick’s Day party from 7:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. Events include live music, stilt walkers, leprechauns and more. I haven’t been to Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island in quite awhile, so on Wednesday, my family and I decided to have dinner at Planet Hollywood located inbetween Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island.  We parked near McDonald’s in Downtown Disney and had to walk over to Pleasure Island.  Just beyond McDonald’s on the way to Pleasure Island we saw huge construction walls erected with workers busily building behind them.  A huge banner hung on one of the construction walls to let visitors know this would be the location for a new T-Rex restaurant.

Yes, there are other things to do at Walt Disney World than go to theme parks! 
On September 15-16, 2007, the 20th Annual U.S. Open of Waterskiing will be held on the lake at Downtown Disney.  There is no admission fee to Downtown Disney, and I haven’t seen any mention of a ticket requirement to view the Waterskiing Championships.  It looks like anyone can stop by and check out the action.

Little girls age three and over can make their dreams of being a princess come true with a complete princess makeover at Downtown Disney’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  In true Disney fashion, the salon operates within a theme, so the princess experience begins as soon as guests walk into the shop.  The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is run by Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, and the stylists are training to become Godmothers.
