Hong Kong Disneyland Celebrates the “Year of the Mouse”

Hong Kong DisneylandThis year, Disneyland Hong Kong guests can celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year like never before. The Year of the Mouse celebration will be held from January 22, 2008 - February 24, 2008 and will include a variety of special events to make Disney’s version of a Chinese New Year celebration one to remember.

According to LaughingPlace.com, the scheduled events include:

  • Mickey Rockin’ in the Mouse Castle Show: Each day in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, Mickey and friends entertain guests with a show that features popular Asian pop music.
  • Salute to Mickey Statues: Celebrities will create eight life-size Mickey Mouse statues representing aspects of luck for the Chinese New Year.
  • Rhythm of Life Procession: Music, dancers, puppets and living art will appear on Main Street USA to entertain guests.
  • Mickey’s House: Keepsakes, clothes and food will be displayed.
  • Adventures in Fashion: Disney characters put on a fashion show of designs created by Vivienne Tam.
  • Delectable Bites and Dazzling Merchandise: Guests can choose from 80 food items and 70 specially designed merchandise items to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
