New Ice Cream Shop Opens in Epcot
The Fountain View Bakery has been closed for a long time in Future World at Epcot. Finally, it has reopened as an ice cream shop! Located in Innoventions West (just outside the main character greeting area and beside the main fountain), the new ice cream shop is in a perfect location in the center of everything in Future World.
There are high-top tables and stools inside and regular tables and chairs on the deck outside where guests can enjoy their ice cream while watching the fountain. The menu includes a number of ice cream flavors available in cups, cones, waffle cones, milk shakes or as ice cream sandwiches (with the ice cream of your choice between two big chocolate chip cookies). The shop uses Edy’s ice cream. My family has tried several flavors of cones, waffle cones, cups and milkshakes, as well as the chocolate chip cookies, and everything we have tasted so far has been delicious (particularly on a hot day in August/September).
Epcot needed a place for guests to get ice cream on hot days other than the McDonald’s option at the Refreshment Port and ice cream carts scattered throughout the park. Now, if they could just get better service in the newly opened ice cream shop, I’m sure it will be a big hit. That’s my only complaint right now. The service is terrible, but hopefully, that will improve soon.

hi, i visited Epcot some 20 years ago, great place. From the comments posted about the new icre-cream stall at Epcot, i agree that it is a great idea, cool on hot days. Ice-cream is for all ages.. if service was the only issue, fix it and everybody will be happy. cheers

I agree. Once the service is fixed, the new ice cream shop will be a great addition to Epcot! My family and I have been talking about how Epcot needed an ice cream shop for a long time, then we walked in a couple of weeks ago, and there it was! No announcement, no fanfare, nothing, but we were so happy to see it.

Bad move Disney. As boomer’s kids age, so does the demand for coffee.
And couldn’t they do better than Edy’s????
Fountain View was a place to relax and watch the fountain. There aren’t enough places to chill at EPCOT as it is.
