T-Rex Restaurant Construction Photos from Walt Disney World

Last year, I wrote about the new T-Rex Restaurant that is being built in between Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island at Walt Disney World.  Today, I have a new construction photo that shows you the progress of the building as well as the promotional sign stating the new restaurant will open in the Fall 2008.

If you didn’t read my original post about the T-Rex Restaurant, definitely check it out.  This restaurant sounds incredible, and I can’t wait until it opens!

Celebrate Tavern Day at Walt Disney World

Today is National Tavern Day.  Happy Tavern Day!  If you’re in Walt Disney World for National Tavern Day (March 4th), then take some time to stop of at the two popular “taverns” you can find on Walt Disney World property.
If you’re in Epcot, head over to the United Kingdom pavilion and have a pint (or yard) of ale at the Rose and Crown.  Situated on the shores of the World Showcase Lagoon, you can dine on British food while watching the ever-popular Illuminations show or just hang out at the authentic British pub.

Disney Bans Children Under 10 from Victoria & Albert’s

In a bold move, Disney has banned children under 10 from its fanciest restaurant, Victoria & Albert’s at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  Starting this week, kids are not welcome at the super posh restaurant.
“We want to be the restaurant that’s available for that adult experience,” said general manager Israel Perez.  What would Walt think?

Review: Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Disney-MGM Studios

The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Walt Disney World’s Disney-MGM Studios is a unique place for lunch or dinner.  This restaurant is themed after drive-in movie theaters that were popular in the 1950s.
The decor of the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater screams “drive-in” from top to bottom.  As your family is escorted to the dining area, you’ll immediately feel like you are at a 1950s drive-in movie theater complete with waiters and waitresses on rollerskates!

Riverside Mill and Food Court Reopens at Port Orleans Resort

Riverside Mill and Food Court Reopens at Port Orleans Resort

Riverside Mill and Food Court was closed for refurbishment earlier this year and reopened in April.  I finally had a chance to eat dinner there earlier this week, and I was very pleased with the changes.
The location and ambience remains the same as you would expect from the family-friendly Port Orleans Riverside Resort.  The biggest changes were made to the food preparation and ordering area.  The stations where the food is prepared remain in their original locations, but the menu choices and preparation techniques are different.  There are seven main counters now:

Top 10 Restaurants for Families with Small Children at Walt Disney World

Top 10 Restaurants for Families with Small Children at Walt Disney World

My husband and I have been taking our triplets to Walt Disney World at least once per week since they were 14 months old.  They’re nearing 3 years old now, and during the past 2 years, we’ve taken them to 75% of the family-friendly restaurants on Walt Disney World property.  It’s amazing in a place like Walt Disney World, which is made for families with small children, that there are so many restaurants (primarily counter service restaurants) that do not have enough high chairs.  We’ve learned which restaurants always have enough high chairs and don’t mind loud toddlers.  In fact, …read more
