Sneak Peak at Toy Story Mania Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Nearly a year ago, I published a post announcing that a new Toy Story ride is coming to Disney-MGM Studios which included concept art for the new attraction. A lot has changed in a year. For one, Disney-MGM Studios is now called Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Second, Toy Story Mania is getting closer to opening, and the first interior picture was released this week by Disney.

The picture shows Disney Imagineers testing the new Toy Story Mania ride vehicle. According to WDWNews.com, riders will wear 3-D glasses then “shrink” to the size of toys where they’ll follow a midway-themed route. At each …read more

Radical Scripting Changes for the Haunted Mansion

Radical Scripting Changes for the Haunted Mansion

For 40 years, the servants of the Haunted Mansion have been welcoming guests in the same macabre way.  As guests enter the foyer and the portrait room, they’re typically greeted by one of those servants delivering a droll pun such as, “Drag your wretched bodies to the dead center of the room.”  Well, those days are over.

The Southern California 2Fer Ticket goes on sale on January 7th, and it will be valid until April 24, 2008.  With theme park ticket prices soaring through the roof, this sounds like a great way for locals to visit Disneyland or Disney’s California Adventure in the next few months.

It’s a Small World Closing 1/22/08 for 10 Months

Back in November, the hot Disneyland topic was Disney’s plans to close the It’s a Small World attraction to deepen the channels that the boats travel through.  While Disney denied it, the general consensus is because as Disney guests have gotten progressively heavier over the past several decades, the attraction boats were sinking.  Unfortunately, the boats got stock on the bottom of the channel, and the ride had to shut down numerous times to remove passengers from boats that were simply to heavy to float freely.
