Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Celebrates Pears

Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Celebrates Pears

I spent the day at the International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot yesterday and found an adorable area next to the America pavilion that celebrates pears!

The display area is set up to look like a circus with funhouse mirrors, pear matching games, spinning ferris wheels that provide fun facts about pears, and more.  There is also a coloring table for kids and a cold case where you can buy a variety of individual pears to try!  We sampled a super fresh and delicious Bartlett Pear – yummy!

Becoming Members – Pros and Cons of the Disney Vacation Club

Becoming Members – Pros and Cons of the Disney Vacation Club

Today, I’m happy to have a guest post by a  fellow b5media Travel Channel blogger, Apryl Chapman Thomas.  If you don’t already read Apryl’s blog, Southern Byways, then you’re missing out!  Without further ado, here is Apryl’s guest post.
We did it.
We are now officially a part of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) family. Honestly, this is something I didn’t think we would ever do. My husband wasn’t a big fan of being locked into vacationing at one place, but over the years had a change of heart. We have always been big Disney people. We head to Orlando at least …read more

Answer – Where is This Hidden Mickey?

Last week, I posted the picture below and asked The Disney Traveler readers to guess where the Hidden Mickey in the picture can be found on Walt Disney World property.

And the answer is…..
The Hidden Mickey that appears on the drain cover in the picture above can be found in the koi pond in front of the Japan pavillion in Epcot.  Look for it next time you visit Epcot in Walt Disney World!

T is for The Monkees – Check Out Davy Jones at Disney

T is for The Monkees – Check Out Davy Jones at Disney

Who’s the 60’s heart throb who Marcia Brady loved so much that I caught performing during the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival Flower Power Concert Series on Mother’s Day (how appropriate)?  It’s Davy Jones from The Monkees!
I saw The Monkees in concert in the 80s during their first revival.  I didn’t even realize Davy Jones was performing at Epcot on Sunday when I was there for the Mother’s Day Brunch, so it was a great surprise to walk by the ampitheater outside of the American Pavilion and hear “I’m a Believer” through the speakers.  I couldn’t stay for the …read more

Today’s pictures will show you some of the great areas throughout the dining room where people could pose for pictures.  To stay with the royal theme of the Mother’s Day brunch, the decorations featured scenes and items from Disney Princess movies.
First up, Cinderella’s dress.

But Cinderella’s dress wasn’t all that display was made of.  It also included a beautiful staircase …read more

Celebrate Tavern Day at Walt Disney World

Celebrate Tavern Day at Walt Disney World

Today is National Tavern Day.  Happy Tavern Day!  If you’re in Walt Disney World for National Tavern Day (March 4th), then take some time to stop of at the two popular “taverns” you can find on Walt Disney World property.
If you’re in Epcot, head over to the United Kingdom pavilion and have a pint (or yard) of ale at the Rose and Crown.  Situated on the shores of the World Showcase Lagoon, you can dine on British food while watching the ever-popular Illuminations show or just hang out at the authentic British pub.

Mother’s Day Brunch at Disney World: Don’t Miss It

Mother’s Day Brunch at Disney World: Don’t Miss It

If you’ll be visiting Walt Disney World or the Orlando, Florida area on Mother’s Day, don’t miss the Mother’s Day Brunch at Epcot.  It’s amazing!  I wrote about it after my family went for the first time last year.  You can read my full review on Mother’s Day Brunch at Epcot.
I just made my reservations for the Mother’s Day Brunch at Epcot’s World Showplace Pavilion, and I can’t wait.  I tried to take pictures last year, but they all turned out too dark to post.  I’m going to try again this year.

Epcot Quick Tip: The Trains at the Germany Pavilion

Epcot Quick Tip: The Trains at the Germany Pavilion

Don’t forget to take some time to see the elaborate train display outside of the Germany pavilion in Walt Disney World’s Epcot. Technically, the train display can be found in between the Germany and Italy pavillions, but it’s considered an extension of the Germany pavilion. You can also buy model trains inside the shops at the Germany pavilion.
