As you come through the entrance of the Magic Kingdom and step onto Main Street USA, you’re welcomed by eight giant scarecrows.

The scarecrows are placed in pairs surrounding the flagpole.  I think the one above and below must be the mayor and his wife!

The next pair of scarecrows look like they’re in the marching band!

This one played so hard he broke his drum!

When my daughter saw the next scarecrow, she asked if she could have one of the treats the scarecrow is holding!

The next scarecrow and the one above must be the town baker and his wife!

When my son saw the scarecrow below, he was extremely intrigued by the baseball in the scarecrow’s mouth.

The final scarecrow looks like she was out shopping.  Check out the mini scarecrow in her hand!

The scarecrows were a big hit, and everyone was stopping to look at them and snap pictures!  Leave it to Disney to take Halloween decorations to the next level!

I took pictures of some of the Halloween decorations at the Magic Kingdom to share with The Disney Traveler readers, and I’m posting half of them today and half tomorrow.  I hope they help you to get into the Halloween spirit!

As you approach the entrance to the Magic Kingdom, the train station and the Mickey Mouse in the grass in front of the station are covered with decorations!

Can you guess what that Mickey Mouse is made of?  Instead of flowers, it’s made of pumpkins and gourds!  Check it out below!

Check out the adorable pumpkin figures in front of the train station!

I love the Mickey Mouse jack-o-lanterns that are found throughout the Magic Kingdom.

Even City Hall got a makeover!

The shops lining Main Street USA are brimming with the colors of Halloween.

Many of the store windows got makeovers, too.

My daughter particularly loved this Minnie Mouse window display.

The theme for the Haunted Hayrides is “Vineland, Mystery, Magic or Myth,” and guests can join in the fun on select dates in October.  The price is $15.00 for ages 10 and above and $10.00 for children under 9 years old.  Advanced tickets can be purchased beginning October 10, 2007, or they can be purchased on the day of the hayride at the Fort Wilderness Kennel.  Groups up to 30 guests can reserve an entire wagon for $350.

Disney’s Haunted Wagon Hayrides at Fort Wilderness sound like a lot of fun for the whole family.  I think my triplets might be too young to really enjoy it this year, but I’d love to hear all the details.  If you get the chance to go on a Haunted Hayride, please stop back by Disney for Families and More and leave a comment telling us all about it!
