Pleasure Island Clubs to Close

Late last week, Disney announced it’s closing the nightclubs located in Walt Disney World’s Pleasure Island.  Six clubs in total will close on September 27, 2008 including Mannequins, 8Trax, BET, the Adventurers Club, Motion, and the Comedy Warehouse. 

It will take two years for Pleasure Island to be recreated as a dining and shopping haven for a more family-friendly crowd.  According to Disney, the purpose for the redesign is to better meet the needs of Disney’s core audience – families.  Three businesses will stay after the transformation – Raglan Road (an Irish pub), Fuego by Sosa Cigars and Harley Davidson.

Wall-E Comes to Disney World

Disney’s new animated movie, Wall-E, opens in theaters today, but Wall-E merchandise is already in stores at Walt Disney World.  I snapped this picture of the Wall-E merchandise inside the store in the Mission Space attraction in Epcot last week. 

My 3-year old triplets knew nothing about Wall-E when they saw this display, but they immediately gravitated toward it and wanted a Wall-E toy.  Suffice it to say, we’ll definitely be seeing Wall-E in theaters.  I think we’ll wait a week or two for the crowds to die down a bit though.  I have a feeling Wall-E is going …read more
