Walt Disney World Theme Park Ticket Pricing and Discounts
Recently, the Walt Disney World website was revamped, and the new site is cumbersome and difficult to navigate. There is no easy way to see a list of pricing for all ticket options. Instead, users have to fumble through a variety of screens and videos to find the information they need. I thought it would be useful to put the current prices in one place here on my blog as well as some money saving tips.
Did you know if you purchase your Walt Disney World theme park tickets on the Walt Disney World website prior to your vacation, you can save up to $18 per adult ticket. The restrictions on the Disney website say, “Now, you can save even more money by purchasing Magic Your Way tickets of five or more days with the Park Hopper® Option or Water Park Fun & More Option before you leave home! You can receive up to $18 in savings by buying in advance instead of purchasing the same ticket at the front gate. Savings calculated before tax and shipping fees. Savings available on 4-day or more Ticket with the Park Hopper® Option and/or Water Park Fun & More Option.”
Note: The following prices were obtained on March 15, 2007 from the Walt Disney World website. Child tickets are valid for ages 3-9, and adult tickets are valid for ages 10+. Tax is not included in ticket prices. Ticket prices reflect online pre-purchase discount. “No exp.” reflects the ticket price WITH the no expiration option included.

TIP: It’s important to understand that tickets are valid for 14 days from the first time they are used. If you’re planning to return to Walt Disney World, you may be tempted to choose the no expiration option. It makes sense, because the longer the length of the original ticket you buy, the less you pay per day; however, take a moment to consider purchasing an Annual Pass, which may save you more money. For example, a 10-day adult Magic Your Way Base Ticket + Park Hopper Option with no expiration date costs $409.00 while a Theme Park Annual Pass costs just $434.00. An Annual Pass is valid for unlimited use for one year from the date of purchase and gives you perks like free parking ($10.00 per day for cars), discounts on merchandise, and other money saving benefits. You’ll also receive the passholder newsletter which notifies you of upcoming promotions and events to help you maximize your savings and your vacation fun.
Annual Passes (visit all four Disney Theme Parks anytime)
Theme Park Annual Pass: Child=$382.00; Adult=$434.00
Theme Park Premium Annual Pass (includes water parks, Pleasure Island and more): Child=$493.00; Adult=$559.00
Other Tickets
Water Park Single Day: Child=$33; Adult=$39
Disney Quest Single Day: Child=$30; Adult=$36
Pleasure Island Single Day: Child=N/A; Adult=$21.95
Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex: Child=$7.71; Adult=$10.28
TIP: The best way to save money on Walt Disney World theme park tickets is to plan your trip before you arrive. Decide what you want to do and where you want to go before you leave home. That way, you’ll be able to evaluate the tickets available and pick the most economical choice that best fits your needs. If you can, buy your tickets online before you leave home to take advantage of Walt Disney World’s pre-purchase discount.
Theme park tickets are a big investment, but they are also a key component to enjoying your Walt Disney World vacation. Be prepared for a large out-of-pocket expense, but it’s a wise investment. The return you’ll receive from family memories that will last a lifetime are worth more than the cost of the tickets.

I’m so glad to have found your blog! My fiance and I are moving to Orlando when we get married in June, and I was just thinking I’d like to find out how much annual passes are!

I went to Disney World when I was a kid. I wish I had the opportunity to see all the the park. I didn’t get to see even half of it.

Nicole, the pricing for Florida resident Annual Passes are much better, and there are different pass options as well. I’ll write a post on that next! And welcome to Orlando (in advance), you’ll love it. We moved from New Jersey in 2005, and we’ve never looked back! It’s a great area to raise a family.

I can only say that my experience with disney world has been more than satisfactory. Their customer servie is 1st class and the disney park is one place that once you enter, you simply do not want to leave !
My husband and I will be visiting disney world again later this year, together with our 2 boys. We all agree that it is the best place to spend our well deserved holidays.
